After I hit rock bottom mentally, emotionally, and quite literally in a skiing accident that changed my outlook on life, I longed for nothing more than inner-peace.
I became engrossed with holistic and trauma-informed healing. I thought I was going to explode if one more well-meaning person told me to "just be more positive, focus on the good things, others have it much worse." I wanted to understand what I was feeling and why so I could truly process my experiences and heal.
As I learned to regulate my nervous system when I felt anxious or low, I felt more safe to be fully in the present moment. Through exploring my thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns, I gained clarity about my values, passions, and desires. In showing up for myself and my goals one tolerable step at a time, I noticed my hopelessness gradually transform into hope.
Mindfulness and healing sparked a passion for life that kept me going. I feel more connected to myself and others, present in the world around me, and clarity about what brings me the most joy. I feel a renewed sense of creativity, possibility, and excitement, and I want you to experience all of these feelings, too.
