In 2017, I hit rock bottom mentally, emotionally, and quite literally in a skiing accident that changed my outlook on life. I realized I was stuck in a pattern of manifesting my biggest fear: chasing a life of inner-peace and fulfillment, rather than actually feeling at peace and fulfilled.
I was desperate for relief from the lows of depression and the overwhelm of anxiety. I felt increasingly frustrated every time a well-meaning person told me to "just be more positive, focus on the good things, others have it much worse." I wanted to understand what I was feeling and why so I could truly process my experiences and heal. Ultimately, I found support and lasting progress through various modalities of holistic and trauma-informed healing.
As I learned to regulate my nervous system, I felt more intentional and fully in the present moment for the first time in my life. Through exploring my thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns, I gained clarity about my values, passions, and desires. In showing up for myself and my goals one tolerable step at a time, I noticed my hopelessness gradually transform into hope.
Mindfulness and healing sparked a passion for life that kept me going on the hard days. I feel more connected to myself and others, present in the world around me, and clarity about what brings me the most joy. I feel a renewed sense of creativity, possibility, and excitement, and I want you to experience all of these feelings and more, too.
